Committee Descriptions

Archives Charts the history of the Club. comprised of charter members.
Board Elected. Consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Immediate Past President, and two - three Directors.
Environment Brings local environmental issues to the Club's attention. In previous years, this Committee has arranged for the Club to take part in cleaning an area of Burleigh Park in Palmer and planting and caring for flower urns in downtown Ludlow.  Limited Time requirement
Fellowship Welcomes guests and encourages "mingling" during the social time at our monthly meetings.  Limited Time requirement.
Golf Organizes the Club's annual Golf Tournament fundraiser. Typically busy from March to June.
Membership Ensures that information regarding our Club and Zonta International is received by potential members, receives new member applications, and ensures that materials needed for new members is available. Also develops programs for recruiting/retaining members and designs activities that will help identify new members. This Committee classifies new members and reclassifies members who change vocations.
Nominating Elected. Identifies qualified candidates for elected positions. Contacts those members to determine their interest and presents a written slate of officers for Club vote. Limited Time requirement - every other year.
Poinsettia Assists Chairperson Liz Reeves with this annual fundraiser. Tasks may include delivering plants, making bows, etc. All members sell plants. Typically busy October and November.
Program Suggests and/or obtains speakers for our monthly meetings.
Public Relations Promotes the ZCQV and ZI within our community by arranging press releases with local papers. Encourages interaction with other area clubs, i.e. program exchanges. Ensures information about Zonta and copies of media coverage are received by guest speakers.
Service Recommends actions on received service projects and/or suggests projects that support Zonta's objectives, missions and goals.
UN Provides information to members on Zonta International's work with the UN and other agencies. Creates programs that engage members in support of Zonta's association with UN projects.
Scholarship Sends scholarship applications to area high schools, churches, etc. Reviews applicants, selects recipient and sends winning applications to District Chairperson. Limited Time requirement. Typically busy in October and March.
ZISVAW Raises the awareness of status of women issues. Past projects have included creating brochures listing community contacts for women in need, planning our Club's Conference on Domestic Violence, working with RAYNA and holding a Conference on Workplace Violence jointly with Zonta Clubs of Western Mass.
