Members of Zonta International – through service,
education and advocacy at club level, and by supporting large-scale
programs at international level – work together to make women's equality a
reality – not just in the local community but in the global community as
well.
Within their own communities, individual Zonta Clubs
select, fund and participate in projects fundamental to advancing the
status of women. Typically, these projects promote women's economic
self-sufficiency, political equality, access to education, health, and the
elimination of violence against women and children.
And by joining forces with like-minded women across the
globe to support Zonta's international programs, a single member gains the
power to make a lasting, meaningful and positive impact on many women's
lives.
Zonta International has more than 33,000 members-–known
as “Zontians”–-in 1,250 Zonta Clubs located in 67 countries and geographic
areas throughout the world. The clubs are organized into 29 Districts and
1 Region.
District 1 has clubs in Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts New Hampshire and Vermont in the United States, as well as
